  • Oktoberfest-Themed Fun Run or Walk or
    Bike (5k/10k)
    Starts at the Lava Community
    Building (9 a.m.)
  • Slip on your lederhosen, dirndl, or Halloween costume and let’s see what character wins. All costumed entrants get a free raffle entry for $10 in lottery tickets as well as hot pool passes. Also prizes awarded for best costumes!
  • Start will be 9am at Oktoberfest Halle, outside the Lava Community Building (150 N. Center Street) for all classes. Finish will be the same location as the start line. Times will be listed in each category. Everyone has a chance to win prizes. Prize for 1st raffle prize is $20 in lottery tickets, 2nd prize is $10 in lottery tickets, and 3rd prize is a hot pool pass plus other prizes from local business sponsors. -
    —$10 entry adults / $5 entry 17 and younger
  • Oktoberfest Celebration at the Lava Community Center—Food, Beer, Live Music, Inflatables for the Kids. (12 noon - 7 p.m.)
  • Ahh, the food. Enjoy this harvest festival with traditional Bavarian food and drinks at Oktoberfest Halle in the Community Center
  • MENU:
    —Bratwurst & sauerkraut on a bun with scalloped cheese potatoes: $7
    —Beers - Pale Ale, Oktoberfest, and Lager beers on tap: $4
    —Wines - Barefoot Pinot Grigio, Merlot, and White Zinfandel wines plus the decadent Chocovine wine: $4
    —German chocolate cake slice: $4
    —Hot dogs for kids: $4.
    —Root Beer & Coca Cola products: $2
  • LIVE MUSIC: Inside the Lava Community Center or outside the Center weather permitting. Continuous live music from Rolling Rocks, TJ the DJ, and authentic German music from David Sealander plus other guests.
  • Punkin Chunkin’ at the Park next to Community Building (2 p.m. til pumpkins are gone)
  • What’s more fun than catapulting a pumpkin and watching it rocket through the air until gravity takes hold of it and then…SPLAT! See if your pumpkin can beat everyone else.
    —$5/pumpkin
  • Verruckt Hamsterrad aka “Crazy Hamster Race” (4 p.m. or after the Pumpkin Chunkin’)
  • Jump in the inflatable “Hamster Sphere” and get ready to race! Ready, set , go…race your competition by running as fast as you can inside the inflatable sphere up a grass hill to the finish line. Crazy Hamster fun! Best of 3 races wins a prize.
    —$5 entry
  • Duck Race Raffle at the Lava Community Building (6 pm)
  • Oktoberfest traditionally ended with a horse race for the Royal Family. The duck race is our own version of this tradition for everyone to enjoy. The ducks will race down the Portneuf River from the Hot Pools to the bridge outside Oktoberfest Halle. “Bet on your horse” by buying a duck or two and let the race begin! First duck to cross the finish line wins! 
    —Duck race tickets - 1 for $5 and 5 for $20.
    —Prizes include a first place prize of $50 in lottery tickets, second place is $20 in lottery tickets, and third place is $10 in lottery tickets plus many other prizes from local business sponsors. You could win...and then win big!
  • Lava Lions Bingo at the Lava Community Center (7 p.m.)
  • Win a Special Game and get to spin The Wheel of Fortune. In addition to winning the Bingo Pot you have a chance to win additional money on the wheel. Progressive Blackout Bingo $1,199.99. Bring you entire Family out to the Lava Community Center for a fun filled evening. Everyone is welcome, but to play bingo you must be 18 years or older. BINGO workers are volunteers. ALL proceeds go to community!
