  • 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Beer Tasting
    Held at the Riverside Hot Springs Inn and Portneuf
    Grille & Lounge on 255 East Portneuf Street (Main Street between 2nd & 3rd )
    Join us in celebrating Lava’s Oktoberfest with a kickoff party Friday night! Enjoy live entertainment while sampling different types of Harvest beer and delicious hors d’oeuvres created by the Portneuf Grille Chefs. (Additional beer sold by the glass).
    $15 per person, paid at the door (must be 21 years old to sample beer). Includes appetizers and Bavarian music.
  • 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm: Bavarian Photo Op & Freak Show Costume Contest at the Roof Top Bar.

Saturday, OCTOBER 3

    The Oktoberfest Celebration begins with food, drink, music, and all kinds of festival fun!

    German Food and Beer 
  • 11:00 am – 3:00 pm: Brats, Sauerkraut & Soft Drinks at Mike’s Market. Cost: $4.00
  • 11:00 am – 3:00 pm: German Food
    Most restaurants will have a German dish on their menu.
  • 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Beer Garden
    Side yard of the Royal Hotel. Bavarian Music with Tim Erikson.
    Admission: $20.00 includes 1 Stein with 2 beers.


  • Dawn to Dusk: DJ German Music played intermittently throughout the day
  • 10:00 am – 4:00 pm: Beer Garden at Royal Hotel Side Garden. Cost: $20.00

  • 10:30 am – 11:00 am:  Opening/Welcoming Ceremony On the stage across from Chuck Wagon.
  • 11:00 am – 1:00 pm: Oktoberfest Band

  • 11:15 am – 12:15 am: Pumpkin Painting  
    Cost: $5.00. Side Yard of Ace Hardware.
  • 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm:   Chicken Dance
    Cement Pad in State Park across from the Hot Pools.
  • 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm:  Fun Games
    At the Wagon Wheel Lounge.
  • 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm: Clogging Dance Demonstration and Dancing
    Performed on the stage across from Chuck Wagon.
  • 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm: Sausage Sculpturing Contest
    Cost: $2.00 per Sausage. At the Roof Top Bar.
  • 4:45 pm – 5:15 pm: Beer Steins on Tray Race/Relay
    Entry Fee $5.00.
    From Center Street to the Roof Top Bar's parking lot.
  • 5:30 pm – 6:00 pm:  River Bavarian Duck Race
    $5.00 for 1 ticket, $20.00 for 5 tickets. Tickets are available for purchase at local businesses.
